About Fraser
Fraser Harland practises civil and public law, with a focus on administrative law and appeals. He graduated with the gold medal from McGill University's Faculty of Law and went on to clerk at the Supreme Court of Canada for Chief Justice McLachlin and Justice Martin. Before joining Olthuis van Ert he was a litigation lawyer with the federal Department of Justice, and he has since worked as commission counsel to the Ottawa Light Rail Transit public inquiry and as party counsel to the federal foreign interference inquiry, acting for MP Michael Chong. He also advises clients on Indigenous rights under section 35 of the Constitution Act and the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, and represented Indigenous intervener groups in the Supreme Court of Canada's reference on federal child and family services legislation. He was called to the Ontario bar in 2018 and the British Columbia bar in 2023, and holds a BCL/LLB from McGill, an MA from the University of Victoria and a BA from Mount Allison University.
