About Wamika Razdan

Wamika Razdan helps business owners, property owners and tenants when a public authority sets out to acquire their land, and also handles construction law matters on projects across Canada. As an associate in Gowling WLG's Waterloo Region office, Razdan works within the firm's Disputes Department on complex litigation.

After earning a JD from Queen's University in 2024, Razdan was called to the Ontario bar in 2025. Appearances so far include the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Ontario Land Tribunal.

Expropriation is a particular emphasis, alongside municipal law. That's also a subject Razdan writes about for the Ontario Expropriation Association Newsletter, with a December 2025 article on challenging the three-month notice of possession and a July 2026 claimant's guide to City of Ottawa v. MacEwen Petroleum Inc.

Community work has been part of Razdan's path from the start, with contributions to more than 15 community organizations. During law school at Queen's, Razdan was a caseworker at the Queen's Business Law Clinic and a student director at the Conflict Analytics Lab, which studies artificial intelligence and dispute resolution. Earlier projects included ethnographic research into the cases of missing and murdered Indigenous women. Both the University of Toronto and the University of Waterloo have invited Razdan to speak as a guest, and clients can work with Razdan in English, Hindi or Kashmiri.
