About Vince
Vince Calderhead concentrates on systemic litigation exploring law reform for people living in poverty, taking on suitable test cases on a pro bono basis at Pink Larkin. He spent 31 years with Nova Scotia Legal Aid before joining the firm, focusing on income support and housing matters, and his practice has covered issues from criminal law and social assistance to refugee claims, employment insurance, and residential tenancy disputes. He has appeared before the Nova Scotia Supreme Court and Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada, and since 1995 has frequently appeared before United Nations human rights treaty bodies in New York and Geneva. The Canadian Bar Association honoured him with the John Tait Award of Excellence in 2008 for contributions to social justice. He has taught Poverty Law and Human Rights at Dalhousie's Schulich School of Law for over 25 years. He was called to the Nova Scotia bar in 1986.
