Rees, K.C., is an authority on professional regulation, working from Pink Larkin's Halifax office on complaints resolution, investigation, administrative law and governance best practice, investigator and adjudicator training, alternative dispute resolution, ethics guidance, and regulatory reform. She works with charities and not-for-profits to develop sustainable governance frameworks and has authored numerous papers on governance, self-regulation, and ethical frameworks, presenting regularly at national and international conferences of legal and professional regulators. She chaired the Canadian Society of Association Executives' Nova Scotia Chapter and served on its National Board, earning two CSAE Awards of Excellence including the Banff Centre for Management Award. She serves on the NS Capital Health Research Ethics Board and the Discipline Committee for the Chartered Accountants Association of Nova Scotia. A member of the Nova Scotia Bar since 1988, she received her Queen's Counsel designation in 2020. She earned her LL.B. from Dalhousie University and was called to the Nova Scotia bar in 1988.
