About Lauren

Lauren Nickerson is an associate at Torys whose work centers on the intersection of artificial intelligence and the law. She collaborates with practice groups throughout the firm, advising clients on AI governance matters, regulatory compliance issues, and mitigating related risks. She has played a key role in building Torys' AI Practice Group, helping track legislative, regulatory, and judicial developments worldwide. Alongside this work, she practices litigation and dispute resolution, focusing on disputes involving AI, technology, data, constitutional, environmental, and commercial matters. A meaningful part of her practice touches on Indigenous matters, including issues around the duty to consult and accommodate. She volunteers as a mentor to high school students through Law in Action Within Schools, and has taken part in fundraising for the Daily Bread Food Bank.
