About Tycho
Tycho Manson is counsel at Chernos Flaherty Svonkin LLP with a broad litigation practice focused on defamation and media law. A former journalist, he spent more than six years as in-house counsel at one of Canada's largest media companies before joining the firm in 2014, handling libel litigation, employment matters and pre-publication advice. Earlier in his career he spent eleven years at two major Canadian law firms, working on commercial, media, environmental and tax matters. Tycho has appeared before all levels of Ontario courts, the Supreme Court of Canada and the Federal Court, including freedom of expression cases for the Canadian Civil Liberties Association. He was called to the Ontario bar in 1996 and holds degrees from McGill, York, Princeton, the University of Toronto and Osgoode Hall Law School.
