About Jacob

Jacob Hatfield is a lawyer at McInnes Cooper's Halifax office, with a practice focused on corporate and business law, particularly corporate finance, securities, and corporate governance. While at the Schulich School of Law, he competed in the 2024 Davies Corporate Securities Moot in Toronto, where his team placed third among 13 Canadian law schools, and he co-founded the Weldon Arts & Music Society, a student group centered on the visual and performing arts. Jacob completed a Certificate in Business Law alongside his J.D. at Dalhousie and received the Clifford Rae Achievement Award. He was called to the Nova Scotia bar in 2025.
