About Tonia
Tonia Jiao is an associate whose practice focuses on insurance defence, covering motor vehicle accident tort claims, statutory accident benefits claims, occupiers' liability, property loss, professional negligence, subrogated claims and insurance coverage issues. She has appeared before the Superior Court of Justice and the Licence Appeal Tribunal. Before her call to the bar in 2020, she spent more than six years assisting personal injury lawyers at a boutique Toronto firm, and she later gained further experience at an insurance defence firm before joining Bruder Springstead LLP. She holds an LL.M. from the University of Toronto, earned in 2018, and belongs to the Law Society of Ontario, The Advocates' Society and the Canadian Defence Lawyers Association.
