About Louis
Louis P. Covens is a partner at Bruder Springstead LLP, which he joined as a student in December 2011 before completing his articles in January 2013. He has built a broad civil litigation practice covering tort litigation, motor vehicle accident claims, professional negligence, coverage applications, and insurance defence, appearing before the Court of Appeal for Ontario, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, and the Financial Services Commission of Ontario on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants. Before attending law school he worked at an accounting and national insolvency firm. Louis is an active member of Innocence Canada, formerly the Association in Defence of the Wrongly Convicted, and received a Certificate of Volunteer Recognition for his work with the organization in 2011. He was called to the Ontario bar in 2013 after earning his JD from Bond University in 2010 and a BComm from Dalhousie University in 2007.
