About David

David Jacyk heads Osler's tax litigation practice out of the firm's Vancouver office. Over the course of his career he has served as lead counsel before every level of Canadian court, including the Tax Court of Canada, the Supreme Court of British Columbia, three appellate courts and the Supreme Court of Canada. Before joining Osler, he spent more than 23 years as Crown counsel in Canada and New Zealand, including roughly a decade as General Counsel for the Department of Justice of Canada's Vancouver office. From 2015 to 2017 he worked as legal counsel for the Crown Law Office and Inland Revenue Department in New Zealand, concentrating on revenue and public law matters. In 2013, David received the Canadian Tax Foundation's Douglas J. Sherbaniuk Distinguished Writing Award.
