About Stephen
Stephen is a banking and litigation lawyer in the firm's Halifax office whose civil litigation practice focuses on commercial matters and banking litigation. He advises on bankruptcy and insolvency, and regularly handles the enforcement of commercial claims and secured debt and the defence of professional liability claims before all levels of court in Nova Scotia. He leads a division within the firm's Asset Recovery and Insolvency Group, providing litigation support to receivers, trustees, monitors and other statutory office holders on insolvencies and regulatory appointments in Canada and the Caribbean. He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society, a past lecturer in civil trial practice at the Schulich School of Law, and was named Best Lawyers' Insolvency and Financial Restructuring Law 'Lawyer of the Year' in Halifax for 2025.
