About Sarah
Sarah E. Whitmore is a partner at Torys LLP and leads the firm's litigation department. Her disputes practice spans commercial litigation, class actions, employment law and defamation. Whitmore advises corporations through governance disputes, shareholder disagreements, breach of contract claims and disputes arising from transactions. She has represented clients in class actions covering employment, product liability, competition and negligence claims, acting for organizations such as the Canadian Hockey League, Canada Cartage and Deloitte. She also represented a Schedule I bank in the first Canadian employment class action to reach a common issues trial on the merits. Whitmore teaches trial advocacy at Osgoode Hall Law School and chairs the board of the Barbra Schlifer Commemorative Clinic.
