About Gillian

Gillian Hnatiw is a litigator whose practice spans health law, administrative law, professional liability, employment disputes, and general commercial litigation, with a particular focus on sexual assault, harassment, and violence. She has appeared before all levels of court, including the Supreme Court of Canada, and acted as counsel at the Coroner's Inquests into the deaths of Ashley Smith and Katelynn Sampson. She served as Senior Commission Counsel to Nova Scotia's Mass Casualty Commission from 2021 to 2023.
