About Aaron
Aaron Hunt is a partner focused on private equity and fund formation. He's represented global private fund sponsors on primary fundraises, secondary transfers, co-investment mandates, and carried interest arrangements. Aaron has helped form various types of private funds, including private equity, special situations, secondaries, and credit funds, ranging in size from under US$100 million to more than US$7 billion in capital raised. He also works extensively in the secondaries market, acting for fund sponsors and institutional investors on portfolio sales, acquisitions, and GP-led restructurings, as well as on LP investments and co-investments. Before joining Torys, he was a private funds associate at law firms in New York and London. During law school, he earned the Gerald W. Schwartz Bronze Medal, awarded for the third-highest cumulative average among students in the University of Toronto's JD/MBA program, and he also graduated magna cum laude from the University of Ottawa with an Honours Bachelor of Social Sciences degree.
