Safiya Nanji

About Safiya

Safiya Nanji is a litigator at Ross Nasseri LLP building a broad civil litigation and regulatory practice, having summered and articled at the firm before her call to the Ontario bar in 2025. Her work spans corporate and commercial disputes, professional liability, investigations and civil fraud matters. She earned her J.D. at Western University, where she managed the Sport Solution Clinic and helped national, Olympic and Paralympic athletes with safe sport, team selection and funding disputes before the Sport Dispute Resolution Centre of Canada. She was also active on several student committees at Western Law and won awards for written and oral advocacy in moot competitions. Before law school, Safiya earned a master's degree in International Human Rights from Columbia University and a bachelor's degree in Peace and Justice Studies from Tufts University, and she has worked on policy recommendations for the United Nations, at the Parliament of Canada, and with Physicians for Human Rights. She is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, The Advocates' Society and the Ontario Bar Association.
