About Eric

Eric Block is a partner at Ross Nasseri LLP and an experienced trial lawyer with a national litigation practice. He handles high-stakes commercial disputes, including shareholder and oppression claims, along with fraud, cross-border litigation, internal investigations, real estate litigation and trade secret disputes. He is also a class action lawyer, defending clients in the agricultural, medical device, securities and employment spaces, and he co-led a plaintiff-side constitutional challenge against Canada over unsafe drinking water in First Nations communities that led to an $8 billion settlement in 2021. Before joining Ross Nasseri, he was a partner at McCarthy Tétrault's Toronto Litigation Group and, earlier, a litigator at Paul Weiss in New York. He holds degrees from McGill University, Oxford University and the University of Chicago Law School, and was called to the New York bar in 1998 and the Ontario bar in 2003.
