About Ryan
Ryan Trainer's practice focuses on bankruptcy, insolvency, and restructuring, acting for secured lenders, trustees, and court-appointed monitors and receivers as well as insolvent corporations. He has acted as counsel in numerous CCAA proceedings and receiverships involving real estate developments, operating businesses, and construction and energy-related entities. Ryan was called to the Alberta Bar in 2016 and the British Columbia Bar in 2022, holding a J.D. from the University of Manitoba (2015) and a B.A. (Honours) from the University of Alberta. He leads McLennan Ross's Insolvency and Restructuring Practice Group and is also an active commercial litigator, appearing before the Court of King's Bench, the Alberta Court of Justice, and the Alberta Court of Appeal.
