About Robert

Rob Durante was called to the bar in 1997 after articling for a year at a firm that defended insurance companies in personal injury cases, an experience that pushed him toward representing injured people instead. He joined Oatley Vigmond that same year and has advocated for seriously injured clients and their families ever since. He majored in psychology at McGill University for his undergraduate degree and earned his law degree from Queen's University. One of his most memorable cases involved a woman who suffered a brain injury after a collision, following intoxication at an employer holiday party; the resulting settlement helped shift how employers view liability for staff events. He also serves on the board of directors for the Brain Injury Association of Sudbury & District and has spoken at conferences hosted by the Canadian Bar Association, the Law Society of Ontario, The Advocates' Society, and the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association.
