About Kyle

Kyle Kawanami's practice focuses on civil litigation, with an emphasis on creditors' rights, bankruptcy and insolvency matters, commercial disputes, and mortgage foreclosures. Kawanami appears frequently before the Alberta Court of Justice and the Alberta Court of King's Bench, and has also appeared before the Alberta Court of Appeal. Kawanami served as President of the Alberta Branch of the Canadian Bar Association in 2023-2024, was appointed King's Counsel in March 2024, and was conferred the King Charles III Coronation medal in March 2025. Kawanami also coaches the University of Alberta's moot program.
