About Paul
Paul concentrates his work on two areas: serious personal injury claims and art law. In personal injury work he acts only for injured plaintiffs, with an emphasis on brain and spinal injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice and product liability claims for clients throughout British Columbia and Alberta, and he has settled over 50 files in excess of a million dollars each. His product liability work has covered vehicles, machinery, safety equipment and other consumer products in claims spanning Canada, the US and the UK, and his medical malpractice practice includes cerebral palsy, birth injury and other serious cases with settlements ranging from one to several million dollars. His art law practice involves acting for buyers, sellers, dealers, collectors, artists, galleries, museums and institutions. He earned a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of British Columbia, returned to Kelowna to article with the firm in 1979, was called to the Bar in 1980, became a partner in 1983, and was appointed King's Counsel in 2008. He was a founding director of BrainTrust Canada in 1988 and served on its board for over 25 years, and is a past director and vice-chair of the Kelowna Art Gallery.
