About Tess
Tess Guay has been a civil litigation lawyer with Murphy Battista LLP since 2022. Before entering law, Tess served as a paramedic with BC Ambulance Service and later as a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, including service on the RCMP Emergency Response Team and as a Unit Commander for BC RCMP Traffic Services, as well as two UN Peacekeeping Missions in South Sudan focused on human rights and police capacity building. That background included investigating and preparing prosecutorial packages for fraud, drug offences, serious assaults, homicide and fatal motor vehicle collisions. Tess's practice at Murphy Battista focuses on injury, insurance and medical malpractice claims. Tess earned a JD from Thompson Rivers University in 2021 and was called to the bar in British Columbia in 2022 and in Alberta in 2025.
