About Nicole
Nicole Howell is a managing partner at HHBG Lawyers and one of its founding partners, having started the firm with Dick Hamilton in 2001. Her practice covers the full employment relationship, including contract review, termination, severance negotiations, constructive dismissal, allegations of cause, worker status, and non-competition agreements, and she has argued cases at the provincial, Supreme Court, and Court of Appeal levels as well as before Employment Standards and Employment Insurance appeal bodies. She has represented both employers and employees, which she says helps her assess cases realistically and negotiate efficient resolutions. Nicole earned a degree in philosophy from the University of British Columbia in 1995 and a law degree from the University of Victoria in 1998, clerking at the BC Supreme Court before being called to the bar in 1999. She served as an elected director of the Vancouver Bar Association from 2003 to 2006 and as its president in 2007.
