About D.
D. Michael Bain, K.C., is a managing partner at HHBG Lawyers, advising and representing clients in wrongful dismissals, terminations, severance packages, constructive dismissals, and human rights complaints. He negotiates settlements or litigates as circumstances require, and has appeared before administrative tribunals, the Federal Court of Appeal, and the Courts of Appeal for British Columbia and the Yukon Territory. He was called to the bar of BC in 1999, practised commercial litigation for seven years at a large downtown firm, and joined HHBG in 2005, becoming a partner in 2011. In 2020 he was appointed Queen's Counsel (now King's Counsel), and he received the inaugural Allard School of Law Alumni Community Service Award. Michael serves as editor of The Advocate, a legal journal for BC lawyers, and previously served a decade as an elected member of the Vancouver Bar Association.
