About Kawal

Kawal Atwal is the founder and a partner at Legalbird. He completed his legal education in India and was enrolled to the Bar of Punjab and Haryana in 2013, coming from a family of litigators and beginning to attend court at age sixteen. Before establishing his practice in British Columbia, he worked as a private litigator before the Punjab and Haryana High Court and the Supreme Court of India, focusing primarily on appellate work across civil, criminal, constitutional and family law. After relocating to Canada, he completed his articles at a boutique construction and civil litigation firm in Surrey, and in British Columbia he has built a practice in appellate advocacy, foreclosure, bankruptcy, construction, contract, civil and family law matters. He has appeared before the British Columbia Court of Appeal, the Supreme Court of British Columbia, the Provincial Court of British Columbia, the Residential Tenancy Board, and the BC Human Rights Tribunal.
