About Nicole

Nicole Dechaine is a partner at DBB Law practicing exclusively in family law. She completed her articles in 2012 with a western full-service firm and worked as an associate in its litigation group before joining DBB Law in 2015. Before law school, Nicole earned a combined honours degree in political science and international development studies from Dalhousie University, then volunteered for a year in Cape Town, South Africa with a domestic violence lobby group and a children's after-school program, and later completed a master's degree in political science at York University. She favours an interest-based approach to negotiation and mediation but is a confident advocate before the Alberta Court of Justice, the Court of King's Bench, and the Court of Appeal when needed. Nicole volunteers with Calgary Legal Guidance and the Women's Centre of Calgary.
