About Nathan
Nathan Stanley focuses his practice on maritime law and construction litigation, advising shipowners and other marine sector clients on matters including vessel arrests and court directed sale of vessels, and has participated in arbitration at the International Chamber of Commerce's International Court of Arbitration. He is active with McInnes Cooper's Indigenous Economic Development team, negotiating construction contracts, preparing RFPs and advising on statutory reform, including work on specific claims in Atlantic Canada. Nathan previously worked as a navigation cadet and a Canadian Coast Guard deckhand, and has authored publications on small scale fisheries and resource governance. He earned his J.D. with a Certificate in Marine Law from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University and a B.Mus. from Memorial University of Newfoundland, and was called to the Nova Scotia bar in 2021.
