About Najma
Najma M. Rashid has been a lawyer with Brazeau Seller Law since 1999 and practises civil litigation, with a diverse range of complex litigation and personal injury matters. In addition to her practice here she has a personal injury and insurance litigation practice with the firm's sister firm, Yegendorf Rashid LLP. Her main focus is battling insurance companies on behalf of clients over insurance coverage disputes, catastrophic impairment, bad faith and damages claims, and she has represented clients before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Licence Appeal Tribunal and the Financial Services Commission of Ontario. She is a member and Vice-Chair of the Long-Term Disability section of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association, sits on OTLA's Board of Directors, and formerly sat on the editorial board of The Litigator. From 2015-16, during the global refugee crisis, she provided pro bono legal services to the University of Ottawa's Refugee Sponsorship Support Program, and she has taught within the law clerks' program at Algonquin College. Najma studied at Carleton University, receiving her Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in 1993, earned her law degree at the University of Ottawa in 1996, and an LL.M from Queen's University in 1997.
