About Barbara

Barbara Sinclair's practice covers real estate law and estate planning and administration, including complex real estate, development and commercial projects, and advising financial institutions and municipalities on real estate and financing transactions. She has worked on public-private partnership projects with lenders, developers, municipal representatives, engineers and surveyors, and has deep experience in municipal and planning law, representing municipal corporations and private developers on site plan, subdivision and condominium matters, planning and zoning, and appearances before land tribunals, committees of adjustment and municipal councils. Her estate planning work includes drafting wills and powers of attorney, trusts, succession planning and estate administration, and she acts for private charities and not-for-profit organizations. Barbara received a Combined Honours Bachelor of Arts in Law and English from Carleton University in 1982 and her law degree from the University of Ottawa in 1985. She is active in her community, having served on the Beacon Hill North Community Association executive, the Gloucester Centre Minor Hockey Association, and the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board's Accommodation Review Committee.
