About Michelle

Michelle Mao joined Black Burke Mayor after articling at a litigation office within the Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General, working primarily in civil litigation, mental health, family, and estates law. Michelle holds a JD from Osgoode Hall Law School and an Honours BSc from the University of Toronto (double major in Global Health and Health Studies, minor in Sociology). She has co-authored a published interdisciplinary study on the impact of health rights litigation on public health, and during law school was a law student advocate and Director of Tickets at Fair Change, a legal clinic representing unhoused individuals. Michelle uses the pronouns she/her.
