About John
John is based mainly in the firm's Vancouver office, where his work centres on personal and corporate tax, estate planning, corporate reorganizations, and cross-border tax planning. He counsels a number of private business groups and high-net-worth families whose interests span real estate development, hospitality, agriculture, and entertainment. Earlier in his career he served as a senior rulings officer with the Canada Revenue Agency in Ottawa and taught in the Faculty of Commerce at the University of British Columbia. John holds a BBA from the University of Wisconsin (1978) and an LLB from UBC (1982), and he is a member of the British Columbia bar since 1984 and the Ontario bar since 1992.
