About Michelle

Michelle Awad is a senior partner in McInnes Cooper's Litigation and Insurance Groups, practising commercial litigation and arbitration, securities, shareholder disputes, product liability, defamation and commercial insurance across Atlantic Canada. She is a Fellow of both the American College of Trial Lawyers and the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, and has represented clients before all levels of court, including the Federal Court and the Supreme Court of Canada. Michelle serves as a Director of the Halifax Port Authority and on the QEII Health Sciences Centre Foundation Board of Trustees, and previously sat on McInnes Cooper's Board of Directors and Dalhousie University's Board of Governors. She earned her J.D. from the University of Toronto in 1991 and was called to the Nova Scotia bar in 1992.
