About Michael

Michael Yun is a partner, lawyer, patent agent, and trademark agent whose practice centers on preparing, filing, and prosecuting patent applications in chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical science. Since 2010, he has practiced with Riches, McKenzie & Herbert LLP, handling applications before the Canadian Patent Office and assisting clients with international filings in the United States, Europe, Japan, and China. He also helps international clients prosecute their Canadian patent applications. He studied chemistry and biochemistry as an undergraduate and later earned his Juris Doctor, both degrees from the University of British Columbia. In 2013, Michael was awarded the J. Edward Maybee Memorial Prize, given for the top overall score on that year's Canadian patent agent exam. He was called to the bar in Ontario in 2009 and is a registered trademark agent and patent agent.
