About Gary
Gary Travis is managing partner at Riches, McKenzie & Herbert LLP and a registered Canadian patent and trademark agent whose practice covers the drafting and prosecution of patent, trademark, copyright and industrial design applications for Canadian and international clients. Called to the bar in 1990, he has practised exclusively in intellectual property law since joining the firm, after first completing a geology degree at the University of Waterloo. He negotiates and drafts patent and trademark licensing agreements, represents clients in IP disputes, and advises on building and maintaining trademark portfolios in Canada and abroad. Gary has been recognized for providing pro bono legal advice to clients for more than fifteen years, and belongs to the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada and AIPPI.
