About Michael
Michael Murphy is an associate at KMB Law, working within the firm's Corporate and Commercial Law, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Private Equity groups. Before becoming an associate, he was both a summer and articling student at the firm. His practice centers on buying and selling business assets and shares, private equity transactions, shareholder and partnership agreements, incorporating professional practices, and other general corporate work. Michael holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Juris Doctor from Dalhousie University's Schulich School of Law and was called to the Ontario bar in 2025. Before law school, he worked at a major Canadian bank and a health technology startup, experience that shaped his client-focused approach to structuring transactions. He enjoys hockey and golf and volunteers with the Ontario Hockey Federation.
