Melanie Anderson practises civil litigation, constitutional law, and class actions, with a focus on advocating for workers and members of marginalized communities. She advises employees on termination, discrimination, and harassment issues, and has represented Indigenous workers facing a range of workplace disputes. Through class actions, she has pursued claims on behalf of gig workers and others seeking unpaid wages, and she takes on constitutional litigation touching on workers' rights. Her civil litigation work includes defending people against SLAPP suits and defamation claims, and she is on LawPRO's Preferred Counsel List, defending lawyers accused of negligence. Melanie coordinates the firm's participation in the 519's Employment Law Clinic and sits on the executive of the Ontario Bar Association's Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Community Section. She earned her law degree at Dalhousie University's Schulich School of Law and clerked at the British Columbia Court of Appeal.
