About Matthew

Matthew's practice centres on tax planning, tax litigation, and corporate matters. Following a judicial clerkship at the Tax Court of Canada, he built experience across a wide span of tax issues, ranging from complex structuring to routine objections, and now represents clients in disputes with the Canada Revenue Agency. He has counseled First Nation individuals and communities on tax matters, speaks regularly on the subject, and co-teaches Corporate Transactions at Dalhousie Law. Matthew belongs to the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society and the Canadian Bar Association, and contributes to the UNICEF Water for Life Gala through its Auction and Executive Committees. He earned his J.D. and M.B.A. from the University of New Brunswick in 2019 and was called to the Nova Scotia bar in 2020.
