About Madeline

Madeline Adam represents clients on matters related to Aboriginal rights and title, as well as various contractual, governance, and other disputes, with practice areas including Aboriginal and treaty rights, Aboriginal title, commercial litigation, consultation and accommodation, contaminated sites, employment and human rights, regulatory processes and hearings, and trusts. Following law school, she clerked for five justices at the Supreme Court of British Columbia, and before joining Woodward & Company in 2025 she practiced at full-service and boutique law firms in Victoria serving Indigenous clients, advocating for clients before all levels of court in British Columbia, Manitoba's Court of King's Bench, and various administrative panels and tribunals. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Victoria's Faculty of Law in 2019, receiving the Alexander, Holburn, Beaudin and Lang Scholarship (2018), the President's Scholarship (2018), and the McCarthy Tétrault Prize in Contracts (2017). She was admitted to the Law Society of British Columbia in 2021 and the Law Society of Manitoba in 2025.
