About Loretta

Loretta De Thomasis is a partner who has practised exclusively in insurance defence litigation since being called to the Ontario bar in 2013, and more recently in British Columbia as well. Her work covers motor vehicle accident claims, property damage, occupier's liability, host liability for commercial and social events, product liability, construction disputes, CGL coverage issues, subrogation, and bodily injury claims. She represents insurers, school boards, and condominium corporations, and also handles accident benefits work involving priority disputes and loss-transfer issues. She holds a B.A. in criminology from the University of Toronto and a J.D. from Osgoode Hall, and appears regularly before the Superior Court of Justice, Divisional Court, and the License Appeal Tribunal. She speaks Italian and is conversational in French.
