About Liam

Liam Scanlon is a lawyer at Chaitons LLP acting for institutional and private lenders on a wide range of financing transactions, including real estate financings, construction loans, mezzanine structures and asset-based lending across industries such as transportation, consumer goods and construction materials. He represents Schedule I banks, private equity lenders and real estate investor groups, and also advises on insolvency-related and workout financings and creditors' enforcement options. Clients value his deal-focused approach and his ability to anticipate issues and keep transactions moving. Liam earned his JD from Osgoode Hall Law School, where he received the Harold J. Rubenstein Prize in Restitution Law, and holds an honours BA in political science from Western University. He joined Chaitons as a summer student in 2020, completed his articles there, and was called to the Ontario bar in 2022.
