About Ben
Ben Frydenberg is a partner in Chaitons LLP's litigation group with deep experience in commercial litigation and recovery work. He regularly handles collection and enforcement actions involving business loans, mortgages, personal property security, bankruptcies, and insurance claims, acting mainly for financial institutions, asset-based lenders, and title insurers. His practice also covers construction lien matters, priority disputes with condominium corporations, and negligence claims against appraisers and lawyers. Ben graduated with first-class honours from McGill University in 1989 and earned his law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School, where he received the Bereskin, Parr Award and the Smith, Lyons, Torrance, Stevenson & Mayer Award. He articled at Chaitons LLP starting in 1992 and was called to the Ontario bar in 1994. His reported cases include a Divisional Court appeal on mortgage priority in CIBC and Computershare, and a priority dispute with a condominium corporation in CIBC and YCC 385.
