About Chris

Chris Staples is a partner at Chaitons LLP whose litigation practice centers on estate, banking, and mortgage disputes, with additional experience in capacity, shareholder remedies, product liability, professional negligence, and construction and health law matters. He has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario as well as various tribunals, acting for trust companies, financial institutions, corporations, and individuals. Chris earned his BA from the University of Toronto in 1985 and his law degree from the University of Ottawa in 1988, graduating magna cum laude, before being called to the Ontario bar in 1990. He writes a blog on current estates law issues and previously co-edited Williston & Rolls Court Forms.
