About Laurie
Anderson has practised family law since being called to the Alberta Bar in September 2000, after articling with Calgary Legal Guidance, where she had earlier spent three law-school summers with its Court Preparation and Restraining Order Program assisting victims of domestic violence. She has appeared before the Alberta Court of Justice, the Court of King's Bench, and the Alberta Court of Appeal, with a particular focus on parenting issues and domestic violence. She continues to volunteer with Calgary Legal Guidance and the Women's Centre legal clinic, and previously served on the Calgary Domestic Violence Committee and its Strangulation Working Group.
