About James

James Parker is a partner in Samfiru Tumarkin LLP's Labour and Employment practice, working out of the firm's Toronto and Ottawa offices. He advises and represents both employees and employers on wrongful and constructive dismissals, severance negotiations, employment contracts, temporary layoffs, and workplace harassment or discrimination claims. His practice also covers employee misclassification and non-competition disputes. Before joining the firm, James spent over four years at a boutique litigation practice in downtown Toronto and completed his articles at a major Bay Street firm. He earned his Juris Doctor at Queen's University, where he concentrated in litigation and advocacy.
