About Elsy
Gagné has practised law since 1999, originally in civil litigation covering complex commercial and contractual disputes, employment law, disciplinary proceedings, human rights, and linguistic rights, before serving as in-house counsel for an Alberta electricity transmission company and later as general counsel for a private equity firm. She has appeared before all levels of court in Alberta and Manitoba, the Supreme Court of British Columbia, and the Supreme Court of Canada as intervenor, and now focuses on estate litigation, commercial and construction contract disputes, employment law, and family law. She is a Legal Aid Alberta roster lawyer, a past chair of the CBA's Business Section, and president of the Association des juristes d'expression française de l'Alberta. She was called to the Manitoba Bar in 1999, the Alberta Bar in 2004, and the British Columbia Bar in 2006.
