About Lance
Lance McClean grew up in north Edmonton, attended NAIT, and worked in the local aviation industry before studying political science at MacEwan University. He graduated from the University of Alberta Faculty of Law in 2011 and joined Dawson Criminal Defence as a student-at-law, becoming an associate lawyer in 2012 after articling. He was promoted to Associate Partner in 2017 and has served as Managing Partner since 2021. His practice focuses on trial advocacy in serious and complex criminal cases across Alberta and the Northwest Territories, including drug offences, undercover and entrapment operations, and violent crime. He chairs the Criminal Trial Lawyers Association's Seminar Planning Committee and is a sessional instructor teaching advocacy at the University of Alberta Faculty of Law.
