About Julie
Julie Grivel holds a Bachelor of Arts Honours in Criminal Justice from Mount Royal University and graduated with distinction from the University of Alberta Faculty of Law in 2022. She joined Dawson Criminal Defence as an articling student in May 2023 after clerking for Justice A.A. Fradsham of the Alberta Court of Justice. Her practice covers criminal and constitutional law, including trials, bail hearings, sentencing, and Charter applications under the Criminal Code, the Traffic Safety Act, and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. During law school she competed in national advocacy competitions, placing among the top teams at the MacIntyre Cup and winning the oralist prize at the Sopinka Cup. She also volunteered with Student Legal Services' Criminal Law Project and worked as a summer student with the Alberta Crown Prosecution Service.
