About Kirstin

Kirstin Macrae is a partner at Bayne Sellar Ertel Macrae, having joined as an articling student in 2004 and been called to the bar in 2005. She practises exclusively criminal law, representing clients in both Provincial and Superior Courts on charges including theft, fraud, assault, sexual assault, robbery, kidnapping, drug offences, extradition, murder, conspiracy, terrorism and driving offences. She completed her LL.B. at Queen's University, where she received the Bayne Sellar Boxall award for criminal law, and also completed a Comparative Criminal Law program run jointly by the University of British Columbia and Southwestern University. She spent a summer at the Crown Law Office in Toronto working on criminal appeals and prosecuting provincial offences. She is Past President of the Defence Counsel Association of Ottawa and is active in Ottawa's Youth Mental Health Court and the Ottawa Youth Justice Services Network.
