About Michelle

Michelle O'Doherty joined Bayne Sellar Ertel Macrae as an articling student in 2011 and was called to the bar in 2012. She has worked on files involving murder, impaired driving, assault, firearm and drug trafficking, and sexual offences, and represents individuals found not criminally responsible under the jurisdiction of the Ontario Review Board, regularly appearing before the Ontario Court of Justice, Superior Court of Justice and the Ontario Review Board. She served as Junior Director on the executive of the Defence Counsel Association of Ottawa and sits on the legislation committee of the Criminal Lawyers Association, and volunteers with the Ontario Justice Education Network. She teaches part-time in the paralegal program at Algonquin College. She completed her Juris Doctor cum laude at the University of Ottawa in 2011, after a Joint Honours degree in Political Science and History, also at the University of Ottawa, graduating magna cum laude in 2008.
