About Kevin

Kevin Hille is a partner at OKT who focuses on complex litigation involving contemporary and historical Indigenous rights. Before joining the firm, he practiced law in New Zealand within its bi-cultural legal system, appearing extensively before the Waitangi Tribunal, and later co-authored a book on the Treaty of Waitangi published by Thomson Reuters. At OKT he has served as class counsel on the First Nations Drinking Water Class Action, which settled for $8 billion in funding and compensation, and he continues to work on related drinking water litigation and a proposed national class action concerning on-reserve housing. Kevin has argued motions, applications, judicial reviews, and appeals before courts across Canada, including the Supreme Court of Canada. He is called to the bar in Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, and New Zealand, and mentors younger lawyers while guest lecturing at law schools in Toronto and Victoria.
