About Kevin

Kevin Butler joined Tierney Stauffer LLP in February 2021 after a career spanning the financial services industry and legal counsel roles in both the public and private sectors. An Ottawa native, he studied at Carleton University before earning his degrees at the University of Ottawa. Over more than twenty years of practice, he has litigated employment, business, insurance, estate, and construction disputes, along with personal injury and disability cases, appearing before the Superior Court of Justice and tribunals including the Financial Services Commission of Ontario, the Human Rights Tribunal, the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board, and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal. Kevin holds a B.Soc.Sc. (1994) and an LL.B. (1997), both from the University of Ottawa. He is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association, and the County of Carleton Law Association.
